The short version

Pingly sends one-tap status pings to people you choose. We use the account, contact, ping, device, and subscription information needed to provide that service. We do not sell personal data, run advertising trackers, collect location in the current release, or upload your address book.

Information we process

• Account information, including email address, display name, username, and preferences.
• Pings, custom text, delivery status, and acknowledgement reactions.
• Contacts, private nicknames, requests, blocking, and groups when available.
• APNs or FCM device tokens needed to deliver notifications.
• Private voice recordings and custom sound metadata you intentionally create.
• Subscription status supplied by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. We never receive your card details.
• Limited security and rate-limit records used to prevent spam and enumeration.

Contact discovery

Verified email discovery uses keyed hashes rather than uploading readable address-book data. Lookups are rate-limited, and unsuccessful lookups do not create an address-book profile for the person searched.

Service providers

We use Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and backend hosting; Apple APNs and Google FCM for push delivery; Apple and Google for sign-in and store payments; and RevenueCat for subscription verification.

International transfers

Our backend is hosted in the United States, currently in Supabase's us-west-2 region. Where required, transfers rely on Supabase's data processing addendum and applicable Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.

Retention and deletion

History visibility depends on your plan. Custom content remains while your account exists and may be locked—not deleted—when paid access lapses. You can permanently delete your account in Settings. Recipient copies of pings you sent may remain in their history with your identity removed.

Your choices and rights

You can update profile information and notification preferences in the app, remove or block contacts, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or object to processing.

Children

Pingly is not intended for children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Pingly only with a parent or guardian's agreement. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and delete the account where required.

Changes

We will update this policy when the product or its data practices materially change and will revise the effective date above.
